I think it shows that when one meditates, bringing those brain waves down or just settling your thoughts, the common sense of the world comes to you. You come to just look at the world instead of fear it.
Zen Buddhism scares me.
The concept of totally rejecting absolutely everything is far too nihilistic.
“Zen” or happiness of not being attached to anything, is more just like complete emotional and persona blankness. That’s not happiness, it’s a living death, much as first answer said.
I think it is the most pure and profound of all faiths. It’s one of the few faiths that sticks to it’s principles. It’s also one of the few that promotes exploration of this world in a quest for deeper understanding just as it promotes introspection for self-growth.
That and I love their life philosophy of balance.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I don’t believe in karma I would likely be Buddhist.
