For example Zen, Tibetan, Theravada, etc. Which one have you found to be the best for you in your spiritual journey? I’m a 16 year old and I want to be a Buddhist, but I’m not sure which one yet. I’m leaning towards Tibetan.

So I am 15 years old, I really am trying to pursue Zen Buddhism. I have a few things I’ve been wondering about though. Any help would be great.
1. As a Buddhist, am I supposed to show little emotion (in voice, facial expression, actions, etc.) when something out of the ordinary occurs? I realize I am supposed to have an open mind.
2. I enjoy watching television and playing an online game called World of Warcraft. I don’t have many things to fill up my time, and since I am a student, I do have a lot of time. I am wondering if it is okay to play this game or watch television if I meditate after and clear my head? Is this acceptable in any way?
Also, I live in the midwest and there is no way I could get a teacher or someone who has knowledge of being dharma, So any words of wisdom would be fantastic.

I recently switched from being a devout Christian of over 15 years to Zen Buddhism. What do Christians, atheists and everyone else think of Buddhism?

Why is it that every time a question regarding Buddhism comes up on Answers, people automatically assume it refers to Zen Buddhism? Is it because that is the trendiest sect for Westerners? Is it the same reason that disjointed existentialist half-sentences are popular responses for these same questions?

or can a Buddhism expert answer these questions?
1. Who was Buddha? How did he help others? Are there supposedly pros and cons of his religion? (I would like different opinions
)
2. What actions do people that believe in Buddhism do? What do they believe?
3. How many different types of this religion are there? (Like Zen Buddhism… )
Can someone please help me understand this? (I am a teen.) I would like to understand what this religion does, and how it all started. Can u guys also recommend me some books or websites to research this?

Materialistically speaking?
If so, what kind of implications would this type of philosophy have on poor populations in Asia (i.e. farmers)?
Also, did you know that Zen Buddhism influenced extremely brutal and suicidal Samurai ethics?
(I just noticed that nearly everybody here is focus on criticizing Christianity and Islam (sometimes). All the other religions get a free ride. I jus twant to add something new to the mix.)

1. Is it the aim of all Buddhist to become enlightened like Buddha, or do they seek some kind of lower form of enlightenment, or even not at all? (Was that form only reserved for him?)
2. What is Buddha’s role now? Do Buddhist believe he has ascended into a sort of spectral role, or is he dead and gone and they simply honor his memory? I heard they view him as a teacher so wouldn’t that point to ascendancy? I know he’s not a god.
3. The above two questions for Zen Buddhism.

I read an Introduction to Zen Buddhism by Suzuki.. and I understand the basis of what Zen tries to teach through words. No Logical Dualism.. sort of hitting a metaphysical wall that makes you simplify and turn to yourself.. But it seems really hard to achieve when in a college or work type atmosphere. How can I achieve this in the midst of logical dualism everywhere I turn.. What’s the practical application? How can I focus on my schoolwork (soft education) and eventual Corporate job and Zen at the same time? I am puzzled. I feel like this is what will save me from my scattered brain and fear of the abyss that lies before me but I’m not sure how to practice this within the confines of society.
